Villa Cortez

Situated in the golf resort of Amelkis, this villa of 500 M2 is designed to use less concrete in the construction without having an impact on the emphasis of the architecture. The central block concentrates the concrete structure from which is attached the light cantilever steel structure. With an opaque façade on the North side, it opens widely to the sun on the south façade. The steel structure which gives protection from the sun is a lace of olive leaves which create, in the facade, a game of lights and shadows. That echoes the subtle interlace of the geometrical abstraction of the Muslim traditional arts. The golf course side is treated with low vegetation which allows the occupant to see without being seen. From the terraces, the eye has access to the horizon and around to the pool area. The landscape and the vegetation give perfect privacy.
